Jobe Bellingham ready to quit Borussia Dortmund already, months after Sunderland exit
Jobe Bellingham’s spell at Borussia Dortmund could be short-lived as he looks to leave the German club not long after joining them from Sunderland.
Dortmund signed Bellingham in June for around £31million, but he’s since started just four Bundesliga games and has struggled to make the same mark at Signal Iduna Park as his brother Jude did before he moved to Real Madrid.
The 20-year-old ex-Mackem has played in all of Dortmund’s matches this term, but has averaged just 41.4 minutes across those games, leading to the German media criticising Bellingham’s form.
And, unfortunately for him, it looks as though he might not have much more of a chance to turn things around in Germany.

Paris FC line up ‘shock’ Jobe Bellingham deal
According to Alan Nixon on his Patreon on Sunday, “Bellingham is looking to move on from Borussia Dortmund”.
It is understood that there is “shock” interest from Paris FC, who are currently 12th in Ligue 1 after winning promotion from France’s second-tier last season.
Nixon adds that Dortmund “do not want to sell” the former Birmingham midfielder, but would consider a loan deal that could then put him in the shop window for next summer.
Bellingham joined Sunderland from Birmingham in 2023 and went on to make 90 appearances in all competitions for the Wearside club, scoring 11 goals and supplying four assists.

He was instrumental in Regis Le Bris‘ side winning promotion from the Championship last season, while the money made from his sale has helped fund a side that’s now flying high in the Premier League.
Bellingham’s dip in form since leaving Sunderland
It was always going to be a big step up from playing for the Black Cats in the Championship to starring for Dortmund in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
Maybe there have been some unfair expectations on the ex-Mackem due to his older brother’s success in Germany.
Or maybe the former Stadium of Light star just hasn’t coped well with the big price tag and the glamour move.
Sofascore‘s rated him 6.68 across his 12 Bundesliga appearances this season, while at Sunderland last term, he scored 7.1 in the Championship.
| 24/25 Championship | 25/26 Bundesliga | |
| Shots per game | 0.7 | 0.08 |
| Interceptions per game | 0.8 | 0.8 |
| Tackles per game | 1.8 | 0.8 |
| Clearances per game | 2.1 | 0.7 |
| Dribble success | 58.1% | 33.3% |
| Ground duels success | 54.4% | 48.7% |
| Possession lost per game | 9.6 | 4.9 |
| Fouls won per game | 1.5 | 0.7 |
It’s clear that he was much more important to Sunderland than he has been at Dortmund.
However, giving up after just a few months is very odd and smacks of childishness.
He’s still playing very regularly for one of the best teams in Europe in one of the best leagues in the world, as well as the Champions League.
Dortmund’s facilities and coaching staff are incredibly good, so quitting on them because it hasn’t been as good there as he first thought would be extremely poor judgment.
