Jayden Danns ‘unlikely’ to ever play for Sunderland in triple injury update
Jayden Danns joined Sunderland on loan from Liverpool towards the latter stages of the winter transfer window but is yet to feature.
Danns was one of only two signings made by Sunderland in the winter, despite the Black Cats being well within the hunt for automatic promotion at the time.
Enzo Le Fee was the other arrival, though concerns have also emerged surrounding him at Sunderland after he was withdrawn through injury in the defeat to Hull.
It has been a tough few weeks for the Mackems, with the latest news from Wearside piling even more misery on the Stadium of Light

Sunderland suffer triple injury blow
With injuries having already taken their toll on Sunderland this season, many will have been hoping those troubles are now behind them. It appears not.
According to Roker Report (24 February), Danns is “unlikely” to kick a ball at all for the Black Cats with ongoing back troubles that initially saw him return to Liverpool, likely to keep him out for the season.
Le Fee, having gone off with a hamstring injury last time out, is expected to be sidelined for up to eight weeks with a similar time frame provided for Dan Ballard.

With automatic promotion slipping away from Sunderland, the focus has to be on getting a fully fit squad for the playoffs to ensure they have the best chance of succeeding.
Luck has certainly been hard to come by for Sunderland this season, but they will be keen on making sure that it doesn’t have any drastic long-term effects on their campaign.

Sunderland surely set for playoffs
With an encounter against Sheffield Wednesday approaching, a win would take them five points behind Sheffield United, though they would have a game in hand.
Automatic promotion is mathematically possible but certainly unlikely given the current form and injury situation regarding some crucial first-team players.
From now on, Sunderland just need to finish the season as strongly as possible and ensure that they do all they can to keep up with the top three for as long as possible, knowing that they can fall back into the playoffs if they fall in their attempts.
