‘It’s not true’ – Noah Sadiki jokingly shuts down Sunderland claims

Noah Sadiki has already emerged as a fan favourite at Sunderland.

With Sunderland preparing to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday night, questions have emerged as to who will replace Habib Diarra in the heart of the Black Cats’ midfield.

However, one thing that is clear is that whoever it is, they will be partnered by Sadiki, who has hit the ground running at Sunderland since joining in the summer.

The DR Congo midfielder has been in fine form throughout the Premier League campaign so far, and one aspect of his game has caught more attention than anything else.

Noah Sadiki does not stop running

Many fans have already made the comparisons with N’Golo Kante, while Regis Le Bris has already heaped praise on Sadiki for the way he has adapted to Premier League football.

The youngster is very tidy on the ball, but it is his work rate which has seen him emerge as a favourite at the Stadium of Light.

So much so that Sunderland supporters have started the claim that “70% of the Earth is covered by water – the rest is covered by Noah Sadiki.”

When being interviewed by Andy Sixsmith, Sadiki made it clear he was aware of the statement and jokingly denied it.

He said: “Yeah, I know of this from the fans – I’ve read it online. I mean, it’s not true! But I’m just trying to do my best every time I’m on the pitch and leave it all out there!”

Sunderland’s midfield has been a resounding success this season

Wilson Isidor has earned his plaudits at Sunderland as of late, but most of the attention after five games has been on the Black Cats’ midfield overhaul.

Granit Xhaka has been sensational, and Sadiki has brought something to the table that the Mackems have not had for years.

His tenacity in the middle of the park is exactly what a newly-promoted team needs, and he has it in abundance.

Diarra’s latest injury blow at Sunderland has stopped the progression he made, but Sadiki will have an even better chance to enter the spotlight further in his absence.
