Isidor axed in two changes – Sunderland predicted XI v West Brom

Regis Le Bris could be boosted by the return of one key player for Sunderland ahead of their clash with West Brom at The Hawthorns.

Off the back of a 1-0 victory against Millwall, the Black Cats will be keen to build on that momentum ahead of the final seven games of the season.

Sunderland remain with an excellent chance of promotion via the playoffs, but form going into them will be crucial, with West Brom in a similar boat.

Both sides need to pick up three points on Saturday, and with that in mind, Le Bris could make two changes from the side that defeated Millwall.

Sunderland are lacking defensive options

Anthony Patterson will remain in goal, with Le Bris very limited in the options he can field ahead of him with Dennis Cirkin out injured alongside several others.

Sunderland are expected to go with the same defensive line that held strong against Millwall, consisting of Alan Browne at right back following his impressive cameo.

One change could come in midfield, with Chris Rigg dropping out for the potential return of Enzo Le Fee at a crucial period of the season.

Le Bris hinted that the Frenchman would be available for the clash with the Lions last weekend, but failed to make the squad, with the encounter at The Hawthorns looking far more likely for him to return.

Alongside him is likely to be Dan Neil and Jobe Bellingham, two players who have played an infueltnial role in the Wearsiders’ push for promotion this season.

Eliezer Mayenda returns to the starting 11 v West Brom

Patrick Roberts looked to be back to his best against his former manager’s side, registering an assist for Trai Hume’s goal, taking his tally up to nine contributions for the season, while Romaine Mundle was left frustrated.

Having won a penalty, Sunderland went on to miss from the spot, leaving him angered that he wasn’t able to take it, though that frustration could motivate him even further on Saturday, with it expected that he will start on the left flank.

Wilson Isidor failed to influence the game much, which could open the door for Eliezer Mayenda to make his return into the starting 11, and continue the form he has showcased throughout the season.
