How Sunderland would spend ‘silly money’ received from Noah Sadiki sale as exit update emerges

Sunderland summer signing Noah Sadiki has already been linked with a move away.

Sadiki joined Sunderland from Union St.Gilloise as the Black Cats kicked off their transfer window with a bang at the Stadium of Light.

The Mackems brought in Sadiki and Habib Diarra to help revolutionise their midfield before Granit Xhaka also came in.

Performances under Regis Le Bris have certainly caught the eye, with Sadiki already highly rated at Sunderland after just 15 Premier League games.

Interest in Sadiki has already emerged elsewhere, which could open the SR5 club to a sizable transfer spend.

Noah Sadiki linked to Sunderland exit

Sadiki has emerged as a target for Chelsea, but a move already looks likely to be laughed off at this early stage in the north east.

The Blues haven’t been shy in splashing the cash and could ultimately test the resolve of the Black Cats in the coming weeks and months.

Enzo Maresca’s side may not be alone in a potential approach for the 20-year-old, despite his sizable contract length at the Stadium of Light.

James Copley has suggested that various “big six” sides will be interested in the DR Congo international, but isn’t concerned about an imminent exit.

He said: “[He] Signed a five-year deal last summer. Won’t be going anywhere soon unless for proper, proper silly money.

He was on the radar of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City before he joined. Sunderland are in a tremendous position, and there’s no need to worry in my opinion.

Sadiki could bring in huge fee for Sunderland

Le Bris won’t want to lose the young midfielder at this stage after such a positive start to life back in the Premier League.

Sadiki has played a key role, but should a huge offer come in, there is every chance that the Mackems can’t turn it down.

That in itself could prove to be a boost for Sunderland as the funds could be spent wisely to improve multiple areas of the squad.

Copley has shared his belief that many signings could come in as the Black Cats look to benefit from any fee that comes in for the midfielder.

He said: “You just know if or when he does leave, that money will be reinvested in two or three players with similar upside potential.

There are two sides to this transfer coin, but for now it feels unlikely that Sadiki will be on the way out of SR5.
