How much Marc Guiu could cost Sunderland as transfer agreed
Marc Guiu looks set to become Sunderland’s latest signing of the summer after a deal was agreed on Thursday.
The striker is set to join from Chelsea on loan with no option to buy.
There were fears that Leeds could derail Sunderland’s bid for Guiu, but this now appears to be out of the question.
Guiu is now scheduled for a medical with Sunderland as the transfer nears completion.
Guiu to cost Sunderland at least £2.35m
It has been reported that Sunderland will be paying the wages of Guiu while he is on loan at the Stadium of Light.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared via X (31 July) that this will be covered as part of the deal.
According to Capology (31 July), Guiu is earning £50,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge.

If the loan deal expires at the end of June, this should cost Sunderland £2.35 million in wages if the transfer is completed by early next week.
On top of this, additional costs such as a loan fee and potential clauses in the deal are likely to cause this price to rise as the season goes on.
However, Le Bris is unlikely to care if the Spaniard scores enough goals to keep the Black Cats in the Premier League.
Guiu could prove to be a bargain for Sunderland
For around £2.35m, Sunderland may have a bargain on their hands.
Guiu impressed heavily for Chelsea last season when he netted six goals in nine matches in their Europa Conference League campaign.

Being just 19 years old, the attacker is only going to improve as the season goes on and could be an excellent option for Le Bris.
Hopefully for Sunderland, Guiu can start the campaign quickly and net his first Premier League goal as soon as possible.
