Granit Xhaka compares Regis Le Bris to Premier League-winning icon
Regis Le Bris is highly thought of by the players at Sunderland, not least new captain Granit Xhaka.
While Sunderland’s summer transfer business has caught the eye more than anything, a remarkable amount of credit needs to be handed to Le Bris for his role in the progression over the last 12 months.
Not only did he achieve promotion with Sunderland at the first time of asking, but his stature in the game has played a significant role in their recruitment.
Players like Enzo Le Fee and Xhaka were sold a vision for the project on Wearside, and it is certainly paying off.

Regis Le Bris earns rave reviews from Granit Xhaka
A word has to be given to Xhaka as well for what he has done so far at Wearside, having made his Sunderland debut in their 3-0 win over West Ham.
The Swiss international showed a level of composure in his game that hasn’t been seen at the Stadium of Light for years, and a lot of that is down to his whereabouts throughout his career.
Xhaka has played under some incredible managers, making his words on Le Bris carry even more weight.
In an interview with Blick, Xhaka said: “For me, he’s a Monsieur a la Arsene Wenger. A very calm personality, a relaxed, very matter-of-fact person.
“What he says makes sense. Regis is a remarkably thoughtful coach. The way he managed the many personnel changes in such a short time: hats off to him!
Of course, Wenger had a remarkably successful time in the Premier League, winning the title four times with Arsenal, and the FA Cup seven times.

Sunderland are in safe hands with Regis Le Bris
Le Bris has done an excellent job at Sunderland, and long may that continue.
The Frenchman contributed to Premier League history for Sunderland against West Ham, becoming the first manager to see three debutants score on their debut since Reading in 2006.
His ability to adapt to the situation has proved vital for the recent success at the Stadium of Light, and if Sunderland are to achieve survival, it will be crucial that he sticks to his ways.
Sunderland have already seen a Premier League club approach Le Bris this summer, showcasing that it isn’t just internal value that he holds.
