Finn Geragusian rewarded for Sunderland form as new announcement made

Finn Geragusian has earned a call-up to the Armenian senior squad.

Geragusian has been in fine form for both Sunderland’s Under-21 and Under-18s sides this season, with a combined 12 goals across his 24 appearances.

That hasn’t gone unnoticed for the 18-year-old either, with Sunderland having announced on Friday that the striker has earned a call-up to the Armenian senior squad for the first time.

Geragusian has already made two appearances for their Under-21 side, showcasing just how impressive he has been at such a young age.

How has Finn Geragusian fared for Sunderland Under-21s?

To have been a regular for the Under-21s despite only turning 18 last October is a demonstration of just how highly rated he is on Wearside.

Geragusian scored five goals and registered four assists for them last season, after earning his call-up to the next age group.

And so far this season, he has managed three goals and an assist in eight Premier League 2 appearances.

However, his game goes far beyond just goal involvements, as showcased by the fact that he has won 46 duels and created 11 chances.

The Armenian is a threat in the final third, regardless of whether he is playing a central role or wide right, which he has done on several occasions.

When could we see Finn Geragusian at senior level?

While it is important to note that he is just 18 years old, that hasn’t stopped several of his former academy teammates from making the step up in recent years.

So long as Geragusian can keep up his current form, he will no doubt have a place in their pre-season plans for the next campaign, and should he impress there, then the sky really will be the limit.

The most likely outcome after this season is a loan move for the teenager, with Sunderland having developed a good habit as of late of finding the right moves for their younger players to develop.

Should he showcase that he is ready to make the step up to the senior game, then we could see him have some sort of impact in the frist team as early as next season.
