Finance Expert moots £50m price tag for Jobe Bellingham under one condition
Jobe Bellingham has been a standout performer for Sunderland this season and may be worth upwards of £50million in the summer if one development is to play out.
Sunderland have achieved their success so far this season through the integration and promotion of youth players into the senior setup, and Jobe is one of the most high-profile performers to fit that bill.
Jobe has been phenomenal for the Mackems, and it comes as little surprise to see that they have failed to win any of the games in which the 19-year-old has been absent.
Those high-level performers have earned him interest from clubs such as Manchester United, with the price tag for Jobe said to be set at around £25m [The Sun].
However, finance expert Dan Plumley believes that number could double in the summer under one condition.
Jobe price tag to double in summer transfer window for Sunderland
While Sunderland will want to keep hold of Jobe, they will face a difficult task in doing so in the next transfer window, with Plumley, speaking exclusively to Mackem News, explaining how promotion could alter the price.
“If Sunderland are in the Premier League, then he’s in the spotlight more as a result,” Plumley said.
“The exposure that the Premier League gives you versus the championship, so that will increase the price tag.
“They’ll be even more keen to hang on to him then as well so that inflates the price tag. There’s the young English talent price tag.
“Certainly, if you’re looking at selling to a Premier League rival, then the price tag increases again and all those things go into the mix and also you can charge a premium if it’s a European club as well.
“So it’s absolutely conceivable that if the figure we’re talking about now is £25m, if they go up, then it’s easy to be talking about £50m in the summer.”

Promotion may be crucial for Sunderland
While the prospect of being a Premier League club is enticing enough, there are other factors that make it a necessity for Sunderland to achieve promotion this season.
A failure to do so will likely see their squad dismantled with the likes of Jobe, Chris Rigg and Dan Neil all among the list of players who will be of heavy interest from those higher up the footballing pyramid.
With an encounter with Leeds United on the horizon, Sunderland will have a clear picture as to where their promotion chances lie upon the conclusion of the clash at Elland Road (17 February).
