Enzo Le Fee shows promise in Sunderland audition v Burnley

Enzo Le Fee showed plenty signs of promise against Burnley after being handed his first start since arriving at Sunderland.

Although the Black Cats weren’t able to come away from Turf Moor with three points, they did come away with plenty of optimism from the showing of Le Fee.

Having sent shockwaves through the Championship when he finally arrived on Wearside, the pressure was on him to showcase his worth and the early signs were very promising.

With more game time and freedom to roam, all the signs are there that he will play a huge role in the remainder of the campaign.

Enzo Le Fee passes Sunderland audtion

When Sunderland announced him in the starting 11, there was plenty of intrigue among the Mackems as to what he would be able to bring to the team.

It’s fair to say, he didn’t disappoint.

According to FotMob, the Frenchman completed 87 per cent of his 38 attempted passes, five of which were into the Burnley final third.

Not only that, but Lee Fee created an excellent chance in the opening stages of the second half, having released Wilson Isidor through on goal with a pass that registered an xA (expected assists) of 0.29, only for the final effort to strike the post.

The 24-year-old completed 50 per cent of both his dribbles and crosses, the latter of which he attempted four in total.

His defensive work was top-notch, having completed seven recoveries in eight total defensive actions.

Providing he can stay fit, he looks to be a real player and one that looks all but set to play a crucial role in the remainder of the campaign.
