Enzo Le Fee proves vs Man United why he should be Sunderland’s biggest fear

Enzo Le Fee excelled again for Sunderland as they secured a point against Man United.

Given the performance on the day, some certainly saw the result as a missed opportunity, but with all things considered, it was an excellent result for Sunderland.

It was the first time since Michael Carrick returned to Old Trafford that the Red Devils failed to score, having only registered one shot on target all game.

Granit Xhaka dominated the midfield, while several other players more than played their part in the clash.

And not for the first time this season, and certainly not the last, Le Fee was again the biggest creative influence, showcasing why Sunderland need to do whatever it takes to hold on to him this summer.

Enzo Le Fee shows sheer quality vs Man United

Sunderland didn’t create too many clear-cut chances, though Le Fee was responsible for one of those that they did.

His tidy footwork, matched with a perfect through pass, released Brian Brobbey on goal, which was one of four chances he created in the game.

Le Fee completed 46 of his 53 attempted passes against Carrick’s side, including three of his four attempted long balls.

He completed two tackles, made one clearance and won four duels, again showcasing his impact when it comes to the defensive side of the game.

Quite frankly, there was little more he could have done on the day, and demonstarted why he may well be the Black Cats’ most important player.

Could Le Fee leave Sunderland?

With Sunderland having had such a good season, it comes as no surprise to see several of their regulars linked with big moves away.

Robin Roefs has been linked with Chelsea, Brian Brobbey has been linked with Bayern, and Noah Sadiki has also been linked with an exit from the Staedium of Light.

And while the Wearsiders will not want to lose any of them, they should fear an exit for Le Fee more than anyone else.

He is the heartbeat of this team going forward, and Liverpool are one of the clubs loosely linked with a summer move.

Sunderland hold the cards with his contract set to run until 2029, though it will be one to keep an eye on.
