Jobe Bellingham ‘open to Dortmund’ as Sunderland exit verdict delivered – Exclusive
Borussia Dortmund remain interested in signing Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham in the summer transfer window.
As for Sunderland and all involved, focus will be on 24 May when they travel to Wembley to take on Sheffield United in the play-off final.
Until their promotion fate has been decided, plans for the summer will be halted, including those surrounding the future of several first-team players.
However, as soon as Sunderland know which league they will be competing in, many decisions will be made on a recruitment front, and they will have a huge one to make on Jobe.

Sunderland may be resigned to huge Jobe exit this summer
Jobe has been remarkable for the Black Cats this season, though his form in the Championship has not gone unnoticed, with several European teams chasing his signature.
The most recent of those sides to be linked with him is Borussia Dortmund, with Bundesliga expert Kevin Hatchard making a strong claim about his future exclusively to Mackem News.
Sunderland | Games | Goals | Assists |
Jobe | 41 | 4 | 3 |
He said: “Dortmund have been linked with a move for Jobe Bellingham for several years, and the link with his older brother Jude is well established. Dortmund are always on the lookout for excellent young talent, and currently have Jamie Gittens and Carney Chukwuemeka in the squad.
“If they think he can do a job for them in the short to medium term and then move for a profit, that’s a move they’d be comfortable with. Difficult to know how enthusiastic Jobe would be, but Jude had a great time in Dortmund, and it boosted his career, so no reason he wouldn’t be open to it.”

Premier League football will be crucial for the Black Cats
With promotion, there is every chance that Sunderland are able to keep their talented young squad together, and have a real go in the Premier League.
However, without it, they run the risk of having their side dismantled ahead of another Championship campaign.
After the crazy aggregate victory over Coventry City, the Wearsiders are just 90 minutes away from reaching their ultimate goal.
