Jobe expectations higher at Sunderland due to Jude Bellingham – Don Goodman
Don Goodman thinks that Jobe Bellingham deserves more credit for his level of performance at Sunderland this season.
The Black Cats have had an excellent first half of the campaign, having lost just three times and Jobe has played an influential role in that.
With seven goal contributions from midfield, his role has been paramount to success and will undoubtedly have a huge part to play as the Black Cats continue their promotion push.
However, Goodman exclusively told Mackem News that Jobe hasn’t received the level of credit he has deserved from his showings and says the expectations on 19-year-old are higher due to the fact his superstar brother Jude Bellingham is plying his trade at Real Madrid.
“I don’t think he’s been given the credit that he probably deserves,” explained Goodman. “I think, you know, obviously he’s the younger brother to a football superstar. And people maybe judge him and have higher expectations of him than perhaps they should.
“I think he’s been unbelievable since he walked through the door at Sunderland. I’ve been nothing but impressed with him. I’ve seen a fighter with loads of heart, spirit, and talent and then when you chuck in the technical ability, I think you’ve got a real complete player.
“I think the only way that Sunderland can keep hold of him is if they’re a Premier League club next season. That’s how highly I rate him. I can’t really praise him any higher than that.
“I think the world’s his oyster. He’s got every single tool at your disposal to go on and be a top international footballer.”
Sunderland have a future England midfielder at their disposal
In fact, they have two when you also throw Chris Rigg into the equation alongside Jobe with the pair thriving in the Championship.
Jobe especially though, has shown a remarkable level of maturity in his performances and it comes as no surprise to see him linked with the likes of Borussia Dortmund (The Sun). He is that good and he will only get better.

January will provide a daunting challenge in their attempts to keep him at the club but if Sunderland have real ambition of promotion, they simply have top find a way.
The 19-year-old appears to be loving his football on Wearside and his desire to depart the club looks non-existent so the Black Cats have no reason to entertain any offers in the coming weeks.
