Dennis Cirkin: Sunderland future examined after damning Regis Le Bris admission
Dennis Cirkin is looking increasingly likely to leave Sunderland this summer.
Pronmtoion came at a cost for several Black Cats stars last summer, and Cirkin was one of those to have felt the effects.
The former Spurs full-back was a regular in the Championship, but a mixture of injuries and him simply having fallen down the pecking order has limited him to just seven Premier League appearances.
Cirkin is out of contract at the Stadium of Light this summer, with plenty of debate as to whether he will get a new deal.
However, Regis Le Bris’ latest comments on his future suggest that it is unlikely.

What has Regis Le Bris said about Dennis Cirkin?
Even in the few Premier League appearances he has made, Cirkin has looked every part a top-flight player, but Reinildo’s continued form has limited the number of chances he has had.
Injuries have played a big part in that, with his last appearance for Sunderland coming back in March, when they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Brighton.

He’s been an unused substitute in each of the last three encounters, with Le Bris now insisting that he is fourth-choice.
The Frenchman said: “We’ll see. It’s a bit early to give a specific opinion because we don’t know.
“But at the minute it’s clear that we have three strong full-backs. And the competition is high, so it’s hard to be fourth in that situation.”
What could be next for Cirkin?
If Cirkin is to leave Sunderland this summer, he will not be short of suitors.
He was one of the best full-backs in the Championship last season, and has already proven that he can contribute at the highest level.
Tottenham had been linked in the past, and should they suffer relegation, a move back to his boyhood club may make perfect sense.
Otherwise, he would be an excellent option for one of the three teams coming up from the Championship this season, and even more so when taking into account the fact that he will be available on a free transfer.
