Dennis Cirkin exit: Sunderland transfer tension emerges
Sunderland will have to fight off serious transfer interest in January with the likes of Dennis Cirkin having “plenty of admirers”, according to the Football League Paper.
The news outlet reported in its print edition on Sunday [29 December, pg22] that Anthony Patterson is “wanted by Tottenham” while Cirkin has “plenty of admirers” ahead of the January transfer window.
It is suggested that it will be a “tense four weeks” on Wearside, with every player potentially up for sale if the right offer is tabled.
Sunderland need to show ambition in January
The Black Cats have had an excellent campaign so far but that progression will only continue if they can make the most of the upcoming transfer window, and much of that will hinge on their ability to keep their key players.
If the Mackems are to maintain their aspirations of achieving promotion, they will have to fight off all interest and retain their talent.
While the results on the pitch are what ultimately define your season, January can play a huge role in deciding how those results can go and without a show of ambition, things can turn very quickly.
Fortunately for supporters, the club look set to showcase their ambition with Glen Kamara one name linked with a move to the Stadium of Light (JeunesFootuex).
As important as incomings will be for Sunderland, ensuring they retain their own players will be just as crucial to their promotion hopes and keeping stars such as Cirkin and Jobe Bellingham will be key to any success that they can achieve.

January can certainly make or break your season and for Sunderland’s sake, it needs to be the former as they cant afford to let what was an excellent start go to waste.
All eyes will be on what is happening at the club over the next few weeks as the promotion race heats up.
