Chris Rigg jokingly shares which player he would sell at Sunderland

Chris Rigg sat down to answer questions from Sunderland supporters during the international break.

Rigg has become a household name in English football now as a result of his impressive campaign with Sunderland in the Championship.

However, his reputation goes far beyond his ability on the pitch, with his application and personality lauded just as much by his peers.

It is that personality that led to him answering a question from one Sunderland supporter.

Sunderland loanee ‘to be sold’ if Rigg was in charge

Rigg was quizzed on a variety of subjects, but one supporter jokingly asked which player he would sell if he were afforded the opportunity to do so.

With a slight bit of hesitation, Rigg responded with Salis Abdul Samed’s name, for a reason that many people across Wearside would likely sympathize with.

Via Sunderland’s YouTube channel, he said: “I’m just going to have to say Salis because he’s so loud in the morning, and I’m not a morning person.

“All he does is sing and dance at nine in the morning and it’s not what you want.”

Sunderland could be forced into sales this summer

While Rigg’s comments are nothing serious, the prospect of Sunderland losing several first-team players this summer certainly is.

While promotion remains on the cards for Sunderland, a failure to achieve that could have some pretty drastic effects when it comes to the future of several regulars.

With eight games still to be played, the Black Cats need to find a way to build some momentum to take into the playoffs to ensure they have the best chance of promotion possible.

Sunderland are firmly in fourth

Sunderland have been out of the top flight ever since their relegation in 2017, and it’s unlikely they will have as good an opportunity to rectify that as the one that has presented itself in the current campaign.

Rigg is one of those players who could be snapped up by a Premier League club, though for now, he has a huge role to play in Sunderland’s push for promotion.
