Chris Rigg has point to prove for Sunderland vs Man United after previous transfer developments
Chris Rigg could feature once again for Sunderland when they face Man United this weekend.
Sunderland travel to face Man United on Saturday, looking to extend their current unbeaten run to five games in the Premier League.
It has been a marvellous start to life back in the top flight for the Black Cats, who, on several occasions already, have proven their worth among the elite.
Sunderland will be looking to make a statement at Old Trafford, while Rigg will be looking to prove a point to the Red Devils.

Man United were once linked with Chris Rigg
Rigg has yet to feature much for Sunderland this season, but in the absence of Habib Diarra, the 18-year-old has been handed a start in both of the Black Cats’ previous games.
Compared to last season, when the teenager played over 3,000 minutes for the Wearsiders in the Championship.
His regular exposure caught the eye of several European teams, including Man United, who were linked with Rigg before he and Sunderland won promotion back to the Premier League.
Rigg signed a new deal with Sunderland not long after the interest started to surface, committing himself to a longer future at the Stadium of Light, but Saturday’s encounter at Old Trafford will give him the chance to show the Red Devils what they missed out on.
Of course, the main reason behind the interest is his potential, with 77 senior appearances for the Balck Cats already, eight months before his 19th birthday.
It remains to be seen whether Rigg starts at the weekend, but he will almost certainly have a part to play at some point in the clash.

How Chris Rigg has fared in the Premier League
The 18-year-old has only played 98 minutes of Premier League football this season, though a lot of that was as a result of Reinildo’s sending off against Aston Villa.
Rigg was the sacrificial lamb for that game, though he was rewarded with a start again in the next clash against Forest.
At the City Ground, Rigg only completed nine passes according to FotMob, though a lot of that was down to the way the Black Cats opted to play.
As they have under Regis Le Bris, the Wearsiders absorbed pressure and looked to hit their opponents on the counter.
Rigg, just like Chemsdine Talbi, may not have had too much of an influence on the ball, but his work rate off it was exceptional, and that will be needed again on Saturday if he features.
