Chemsdine Talbi images emerge as he touches down for Sunderland medical

Sunderland are edging closer to announcing another arrival at the Stadium of Light.

Given how far the Black Cats finished behind Burnley and Leeds United in the Championship, it is understandable that they were perceived as the most likely to go down.

This view will almost certainly have changed now, given the additions of players such as Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra to Regis Le Bris’ squad.

With the midfield firmly reinforced, Sunderland are now set to bolster their attack after reaching an agreement with Club Brugge to sign Chemsdine Talbi.

Talbi touches down in England

With the winger’s arrival at the Stadium of Light now imminent, he has landed in England to complete his move.

Talbi’s output was fantastic last season when considering his number of starts.

Per Sacha Tavolieri on X (8 July), images have surfaced of Talbi stepping off a plane in England alongside his agents, Yama Sharifi and Tom De Mul.

Talbi is scheduled to undergo his medical on Tuesday before signing his contract to join Le Bris’ squad.

Sunderland supporters will be hoping that the North East is the perfect place to continue his development, as we have seen so many youngsters receive the opportunity to thrive in recent years.

Sunderland must balance youth with experience in the final third

With Talbi already joining a youthful Sunderland attack consisting of the likes of Chris Rigg, Eliezer Mayenda, and Romaine Mundle, ensuring the Black Cats’ attacking department is balanced with experience will be vital.

Armand Lauriente could be the man to provide this for Le Bris, with the 26-year-old having a plethora of experience in Serie A and Ligue 1 ahead of a potential move to Sunderland.

The Frenchman would provide competition for places across the forward line, predominantly being a left winger but also having the ability to play on the right and up front.

Lauriente would also lessen the weight on the shoulders of some of the Black Cats’ younger forwards, with goals needed from multiple players if Sunderland want to avoid relegation.
