Chelsea star sends message to Brian Brobbey after Sunderland milestone vs Arsenal

Brian Brobbey scored his first goal in Sunderland colours as they came from behind to maintain their unbeaten home run.

Maybe Darren Bent was right, European football could be on the cards for Sunderland after yet another impressive result.

Sunderland secured a point in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal, ending the Gunners’ 10-game winning run across all competitions.

Dan Ballard earned his praises for another monstrous display at the heart of defence, but Brobbey was instrumental for the Black Cats in the final minutes of the game.

Jorrel Hato praises Brian Brobbey after Sunderland goal

Life at Sunderland hasn’t been easy for Brobbey, who, despite joining in the summer, has played just over 100 minutes of football.

However, the Dutchman scored a crucial goal in the dying minutes for Sunderland as they came from behind to secure an almost unthinkable point against the league leaders.

Brobbey took to Instagram after the game to celebrate his first goal, with Chelsea star Jorrel Hato wasting no time in replying to his post.

Pfff slime“, replied Hato, which is modern slang for close friend.

Justin Kluivert, Lutsharel Geertruida and Simon Adingra all jumped into the replies on his post to congratulate Brobbey for his first goal.

Sunderland did something vs Arsenal that no other team has managed this season

Liverpool, Man City, and Atletico Madrid have all had encounters with Arsenal this season, and yet none of them have been able to score more than one past Mikel Arteta’s side.

Courtesy of Ballard and Brobbey, Sunderland did, and by doing so, they became the first team to achieve that since Liverpool in May last season.

It had been 800 minutes since Arsenal last conceded before they arrived at the Stadium of Light, having won their previous 10 games.

Avoiding relegation was the aim at the start of the season, and the Black Cats are on course for something far more special already.
