Brian Brobbey finally pictured in Sunderland shirt after deadline day transfer
Brian Brobbey was among several signings that Sunderland completed on transfer deadline day.
The Black Cats were forced into late action after Chelsea recalled Marc Guiu prematurely from his season-long loan at the Stadium of Light.
As a result, Sunderland snapped up Brobbey from Ajax for an initial reported fee in the region of £17million.
Now, the Wearside faithful can finally see their new acquisition in the red and white stripes for the first time.

Sunderland signed Brobbey and Bertrand Traore from Ajax as they continued to target the Eredivisie for new arrivals.
Robin Roefs also arrived at the Stadium of Light, having completed his switch from NEC Nijmegen.
However, due to Brobbey’s transfer being completed on deadline day, there were no photos shared of him donning the red and white stripes.
That was seemingly because he had to complete his medical in the Netherlands, as there was not enough time to jet over and complete the transfer in the North East.
However, Sunderland have now shared the first images of Brobbey sporting the home strip on 3 September.
The North East club shared the images on their X account, with the 23-year-old holding the badge.

What can supporters expect from Brian Brobbey in the Premier League?
Brobbey may have to remain patient for his first Premier League start, given he is up against Eliezer Mayenda and Wilson Isidor.
Mayenda has started all three of the Black Cats’ top-flight matches, while Isidor has appeared from the bench three times.
The Spaniard has one goal to his name, and his French teammate has caught the eye, bagging two goals as a substitute.
However, Brobbey boasted an impressive goal record in the Netherlands as well as international pedigree for his country.
- The forward bagged 56 goals in 163 appearances for Ajax
- His highest scoring season was in 2023/24, when he netted 18 league goals
- Brobbey has one goal in eight games for the Netherlands
Like Mayenda, the Dutchman is a powerful physical presence who can hold up the ball well for his teammates.
While of stocky build, the 23-year-old has demonstrated that he is quick and gets himself into goalscoring positions.
During his time in Amsterdam, the forward was named Ajax’s Player of the Year for 2023/24 after his best goalscoring season.
Although he only netted four league goals last term, he has every chance of making a name for himself at Sunderland.
