Big Leeds account’s post about Habib Diarra’s Sunderland injury blow is totally out of order
Habib Diarra’s injury at Sunderland has sparked a reaction at Leeds United.
Diarra became Sunderland’s club record signing in the summer window, and like many of their new additions, he had plenty of interest.
Leeds United had also shown an interest in Diarra, and were believed to have made a bid for the midfielder earlier in the window.
However, after Diarra suffered a serious injury blow with the Black Cats, one Leeds account took to social media to react, and fans of both clubs have called them out over a comment made.

Habib Diarra ruled out of action until December
Diarra will miss at least three months of action at Sunderland, and potentially even longer if he is then called up to the Senegal squad for AFCON.
However, because of the injury and the previous links to Leeds, one of their big accounts, known as Leeds, that, has taken to X to mention how it’s “funny how things pan out.”
Many have pointed out in the replies to the tweet that there is nothing “funny” about an injury, while others have been quick to point out how the same thing could quite easily happen to Leeds.
In fact, with Willy Gnonto, Dan James, Noah Okafor and Lucas Perri all doubts for Leeds, that exact thing has actually happened to them.
Injuries are a part of football, as Leeds will already be well aware.
The “funny” thing about it is that if Diarra does not go to AFCON, he will likely feature against Leeds when they face Sunderland on 27 December.

Sunderland have already prepared for the worst
Sunderland’s depth means that when injuries occur, like they have with Diarra, they have options that mean they will not lose too much quality in their team.
That is the case across every area of the aquad, and when those players get an opportunity, it’s crucial that they attack it with both hands.
Diarra’s stats in the Premier League
- 1 chance created
- 6 duels won
- 82.3% pass accuracy
- 93 completed passes
- 11 touches in the opposition box
Diarra had impressed for Sunderland, but had influenced very little in games.
With that said, once he returns, it will be a huge boost, and he can prove to everyone why Sunderland paid £30million to bring him to Wearside.
