Besiktas ready £13m Wilson Isidor bid in new Sunderland exit update
Sunderland’s players appear to be in high demand as the winter transfer window begins whittling down.
Over the last week, Dan Neil has left the Black Cats, and not long after, Arthur Masuaku followed him out the exit door.
Anthony Patterson is another that may see his future elsewhere, but his departure will depend on if the club can sign a replacement.
Additionally, Eliezer Mayenda has been subject to interest from Paris FC. However, it remains to be seen if a bid arrives.
The Spaniard only signed a new contract back in the summer.
Besiktas readying offer for Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor
Wilson Isidor’s future has also been put into question over the last few days, and it looks like Sunderland may have to brace for an approach.
The French striker has fallen behind Brian Brobbey in Regis Le Bris’ plans, as the Dutchman has scored three goals in his last four games.
Claims previously stated Besiktas were holding talks with Isidor, but now it seems those have progressed further.
According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, the Istanbul outfit are now getting ready to bid for the forward.
The information states that an offer of €15million (£13m) is what Besiktas are currently willing to pay to secure the signing.
That would be far off the £35m tag that was floated for Isidor a few months back, but with Everton and Nottingham Forest also reportedly interested, the Black Cats could surely ask for more if they are willing to sell.
What has Regis Le Bris said about Isidor leaving?
Le Bris has not entirely shut down the idea of Isidor leaving the Stadium of Light, although the Frenchman admitted his current options are ‘perfect.’
Sunderland have three strikers at their disposal, with Brobbey, Isidor and Mayenda.
The manager said, via Sunderland Echo, “It’s important, I repeat, from my experience, to have two strikers.”
“Then one a bit more versatile, because it was the case in League One, it’s the case even more in the Premier League… it’s so demanding for only one player to sustain the level, because of the physicality, because of the strength of the opponents, so you need two to sustain the level. And one more versatile one is always useful.
“So our set-up at the minute is perfect.”
With the Black Cats’ chief happy with his options, it would seem strange for the club to sanction any exits, especially with little time left to find a replacement.
