Bertrand Traore has point to prove ahead of Sunderland vs Aston Villa
Regis Le Bris could hand a debut to Bertrand Traore at Sunderland this weekend.
Sunderland play host to Aston Villa on Sunday, with hopes of extending their winning run at the Stadium of Light.
So far, the Black Cats have picked up seven points from the opening four games, with many of their new summer arrivals already making an impression in the Premier League.
Traore is yet to be handed the chance to do so at Sunderland, but his time could come this weekend, and he would have a big point to prove.
Aston Villa were quick to replace Bertrand Traore
Unai Emery admired Traore at Aston Villa, but wasted no time in replacing him with players who ultimately went on to offer very little.
Nicolo Zaniolo and Moussa Diaby were signed to play in his position, which led to an initial loan departure from Villa Park for the 30-year-old.
Le Bris could hand Traore a start for Sunderland on Sunday, and if so, he will be able to prove a point to Emery that he should never have been replaced.

While Chemsdine Talbi hasn’t done an awful lot at Sunderland yet, he is evidently their first choice right-winger as things stand.
However, that could change if Traore hits the ground running, and there would be no better time to do that than against his former club.
Aston Villa remain favourites to beat Sunderland, but the underdog label is something that has often favoured the Black Cats, and many will be hoping that is the case again this Sunday.
Dan Ballard could make his return this weekend, while the availability of Enzo Le Fee will be clarified at the next press conference after his absence in the clash with Crystal Palace.
