Bertrand Traore handed debut in two changes – Sunderland predicted XI vs Aston Villa

Regis Le Bris could unleash a familiar face when Sunderland play host to Aston Villa on Sunday.

Off the back of Sunderland’s well-earned 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace, Le Bris’ side return to home soil this weekend to host winless Aston Villa.

The Black Cats have accumulated seven points from their opening four games, sparking major optimism on Wearside ahead of the clash.

With that said, Sunderland are the underdogs for the encounter with Unai Emery’s Villa, with Le Bris in line to make two changes to improve their chances of a result.

Robin Roefs heroics may be needed again

Robin Roefs single-handedly earned Sunderland a point against Crystal Palace, and while Villa are yet to score in the league, they still pose a threat.

In fact, Aston Villa’s last Premier League goal was before Chris Wilder was sacked at Sheffield United.

He will keep his place in the side, with an unchanged backline expected at the Stadium of Light, including Nordi Mukiele, who impressed against Crystal Palace.

Le Bris’ midfield has picked itself throughout the campaign, and that is unlikely to change this weekend, barring any late injury concerns.

Granit Xhaka should captain his side once again, with Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra playing the two slightly more advanced roles.

Eliezer Mayenda given nod as Le Bris faces dilemma

Simon Adingra showed his qualities at Selhurst Park, and with it unknown if Enzo Le Fee will be fit, he is likely to start on the left-flank.

Bertrand Traore will be a familiar face for Aston Villa, having spent time there before his move abroad, and he could be handed his Sunderland debut as Chemsdine Talbi struggles to adapt to Premier League football.

Up top, Le Bris faces a major dilemma at Sunderland, having utilised two of his three strikers from the start after just four games.

On this occasion, Eliezer Mayenda could get the nod, with hopes of adding to his opening-day goal against the Hammers.
