Bellingham exit ‘had to happen’ after unhappy Sunderland news – Exclusive
Jobe Bellingham left Sunderland to join Borussia Dortmund, much to the disappointment of everyone on Wearside.
The 19-year-old departed to follow his brother’s legacy in Germany rather than staying with the Black Cats in the Premier League.
Regis Le Bris‘ side were compensated to the tune of £32million for allowing the England star to leave, but it may prove to be a tough task to replace him.

Sunderland forced into Bellingham exit
The loss of Bellingham will be a huge blow to Le Bris and all involved at the Stadium of Light.
Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that Black Cats would have been better off keeping the midfielder, but admits a move ultimately was forced.
Asked whether the North East outfit could benefit from selling Bellingham, he told Mackem News: “The answer to that, I think, is no, because they have sold one of their best players.
“I don’t think, when you have come into the Premier League, you should be selling your best players, so I have got doubts about that.
“I’m guessing they thought they might have an unhappy player on their hands if they did not let it go through.
“If that is the case, I get the move does have to happen, but if you’re asking me whether Sunderland are stronger with Jobe Bellingham or without him, they are stronger with him.”

Bellingham exit could harm Sunderland
While they did not really have a choice, the chance to play in the Champions League and win trophies proved too tempting.
It could be a huge blow for the Black Cats in their survival bid next season as the young star was one of their best players, notching four goals and three assists in 40 Championship appearances.
They have been linked with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Tommy Doyle as potential replacements but whether they are good enough to fill the void remains to be seen.
Kristjaan Speakman and new appointment Florent Ghisolfi need to get it right in the market, otherwise it could be a very long campaign for Mackems supporters and end in heartache after a triumphant return to the elite level.
