Bayern Munich ‘reach agreement’ for Sacha Boey exit amid Sunderland talks
Sunderland have been aiming high when targeting players for their Premier League return.
Habib Diarra became Sunderland’s club-record transfer after a fee of £30million was agreed with Strasbourg.
Now, the Black Cats are close to finalising a deal for Noah Sadiki from Union Saint-Gilloise after the midfielder completed his medical.
Another significant acquisition would be for Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey, who has reportedly reached an agreement to leave the German club.

Boey in talks with Sunderland as agreement reached
As well as Diarra and Sadiki, Sunderland are also interested in signing UD Almeria striker Luis Suarez.
Furthermore, a deal for Reinildo Mandava is close as the Black Cats are in advanced talks with the Atletico Madrid defender.
A new goalkeeper is also on the agenda, and Sunderland are eyeing Djordje Petrovic after missing out on Marcin Bulka.
Now, it has been reported that the Wearsiders have been in talks with Bayern’s Boey, according to Süleyman Rodop (3 July).
Sacha Boey’s 2024/25 Bundesliga statistics | Total |
Appearances (starts) | 13 (6) |
Assists | 2 |
Touches | 46.2 |
Accurate passes | 31.4 (94%) |
Tackles per game | 1.5 |
However, the Turkish journalist states that Galatasaray have reached an agreement for the right-back.
They are now awaiting a response from the 24-year-old, who must decide if he wants to make the move to Turkey.
If a deal does not materialise, then Sunderland appear to be next in line for the Frenchman.
Trai Hume’s place at threat amid Boey talks?
With news that Sunderland are keen on Boey, it raises questions over the current first-choice right-back, Hume.
The Northern Irishman has been the Black Cats’ preferred choice in that position for some time and rightly so.
Hume won the Wearsiders’ Player of the Season award after a phenomenal, consistent promotion campaign in the North East.
While he does not always grab the headlines that other players do, he always gives his all in red and white.
The North East club’s interest in Boey does not mean they are replacing Hume, but more that they need reinforcements in that area.
Past Hume, Timothee Pembele, and Niall Huggins are options, although Pembele is likely to depart, and Huggins has an appalling injury record.
Therefore, the signing of Boey would be to provide competition for Hume and boost Le Bris’ options.
However, it appears Sunderland will miss out on their target, and if they do, they will need to move on to new names.
