Armand Lauriente spotted on private jet as Sunderland fee and personal terms revealed
Armand Lauriente is set to be confirmed as Sunderland’s seventh summer arrival.
Sunderland return to pre-season action this evening to face Sevilla, with several new faces expected to feature for Regis Le Bris.
Six new arrivals have already checked in at the Stadium of Light, with Lauriente due to become the next one after an agreement was reached with Sassuolo.
The news sparked concern over the future of Romaine Mundle, though for now, the focus remains on getting the deal for the Frenchman over the line.
Sunderland splashing the cash this summer
Prior to Lauriente, Sunderland have already spent over £100million on transfer fees alone, with the deal for the winger set to up that by a further £17.3m, according to Fabrice Hawkins via X.
Lauriente, who has previously worked with Regis Le Bris and Enzo Le Fee, will sign a five-year deal with the Black Cats.

The Frenchman has been spotted on a private jet, with it expected that he will link up with his soon-to-be teammates in Portugal, potentially playing a part in the remainder of their pre-season schedule.
Tonight’s clash with Sevilla will come too soon for him, though it may not be long until Sunderland fans can see him in action.

Sunderland must turn attention to defensive arrivals
With three attacking arrivals and the same in midfield, Sunderland now need to turn full focus to their defensive lineup, which is lacking quality and depth ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Jhon Lucumi has been the latest link, with hopes of getting that deal over the line, though several other targets will also be considered.
Replacing Anthony Patterson will also be high up on their list of priorities, with plenty of work still to be done behind the scenes at the Stadium of Light in the next few weeks.
