Anthony Patterson is being targeted by Frank Lampard’s Coventry City should the Sky Blues achieve promotion to the Premier League.
Patterson, who was demoted to number two at the Stadium of Light this season by Regis Le Bris, is now currently on loan at Championship side Millwall.
The English goalkeeper has been performing well for the London club, picking up three clean sheets in six games so far this campaign.
Sunderland fans will not be surprised about that development, as he was crucial to their promotion-achieving Championship campaign last season.

That is according to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon, who has reported that a move to the CBS Arena could be on the cards with promotion.
As it stands, the current number one at Coventry is Carl Rushworth, who is set to return to parent club Brighton at the end of the season.
His likely departure leaves Patterson with a potential opening to make that summer move to the Sky Blues and establish himself as a Premier League goalkeeper.
The information from Nixon also shares that a loan deal is favoured in this case, but a deal worth around £8m could be agreed for Patterson.

Patterson played a key role in Sunderland’s promotion, and the former academy star would have been delighted at the potential prospect of representing the Black Cats in the top flight.
However, the arrival of Robin Roefs put that into question, and ultimately, the 25-year-old would leave the Mackems on loan without any Premier League minutes.
Now, Patterson could have the chance to be a number one goalkeeper at a Premier League club with Coventry’s promotion, barring a collapse in the final few games, looking all but confirmed.
It would be a nice story for the local goalkeeper, who was born in North Shields, not too far away from Sunderland.
Patterson has spent 13 years at the Black Cats, and his time could very soon be coming to an end, but fans would be wishing nothing but the best for a player who truly gave his all.
