View: Amad Diallo Snapchat post will surely get Sunderland fans excited

Amad Diallo was seen watching his former Sunderland side defeat Oxford United at home as he posted on his Snapchat account.

The former Black Cats loanee was adored on Wearside for his ability and passion for the club and his departure was met with significant disappointment.

Amad registered an impressive 17 goal contributions during his loan spell, leaving supporters hopeful that he would return although he never did.

Even now, Amad is regularly seen engaging with Sunderland fans on social media, often teasing supporters over a return.

His Snapchat shows him watching the Sunderland stream with the caption: “Vamos”. Which translates to ‘Let’s go’.

Could Amad Diallo return to Sunderland?

It was reported in January (Sports Illustrated) that Sunderland were keen on bringing Amad back to the Stadium of Light although no move materialised with Manchester United keen to keep him on their books.

The Ivorian has had a frustrating season under Erik Ten Hag, often finding himself frozen out of the starting 11 in favour of Antony who hasn’t offered awfully much on the pitch.

Amad has a clear desire to play football and even pushed for a move to Sunderland when he wasn’t getting the game time at United although again, this was ignored.

His contract is out this summer according to TransferMarkt although it is believed Man United hold a club option to extend that by 12 months.

If Sunderland are to re-sign Amad, it would likely hinge on their ability to get promoted this season. If Le Bris’ side can return to the Premier League,m it is very possible that Amad could be playing in red and white stripes again.

The Black Cats have made an excellent start to achieving that, sitting five points clear at the top of the Championship having won nine of their 12 games so far this season.

In other Sunderland news, Phil Smith believes “it’s highly likely” Bournemouth have the option to recall Sunderland star Chris Mepham in January.
