View: Alan Browne dropped in four changes – Sunderland predicted line-up v Coventry

Regis Le Bris could make as many as four changes when his Sunderland side host Coventry on Saturday.

A 0-0 draw against Preston saw the Frenchman make several changes to his lineup in a move that didn’t work out with the Black Cats looking toothless in the final third.

Romaine Mundle and Patrick Roberts were the two most notable absentees although they are both expected to start at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, 9 November.

Sunderland need to get back to winning ways

Off the back of two successive 0-0 draws, the Black Cats need to get back to winning ways against Coventry.

Sunderland’s minor frailties certainly haven’t come defensively and that is why there are expected to be no changes in the Black Cats defence.

With that said, Anthony Patterson could return to the starting lineup in place of Simon Moore after injury.

Trai Hume was a standout performer against Preston and will keep his place in the side alongside defensive teammates Luke O’Nien, Chris Mepham and Dennis Cirkin.

One change in midfield could occur, with Alan Browne disappointing against his former club. Milan Aleksic looked set to make his debut from the bench although never came on in the end.

The Serbian could be handed his first start in Sunderland colours alongside Chris Rigg and Dan Neil.

Many of Sunderland’s woes against Preston came in the form of their attack. Tommy Watson was handed his senior debut while Aaron Connolly led the line.

Watson struggled to get into the game too often but showed glimpses of promise whereas Connolly didn’t justify his place in the starting 11.

Both are expected to drop out of the starting lineup in favour of Patrick Roberts and Romaine Mundle who have consistently showcased their credentials as Sunderland’s biggest threats.

Wilson Isidor was played out wide at Deepdale, yet looked far more dangerous playing centrally and it is likely that he will occupy that role on Saturday.

In other Sunderland news, Chris Rigg has emerged as a potential £20m January transfer target for Crystal Palace.
