Alan Brazil highlights two Sunderland strengths Man United are crying out for ahead of Old Trafford clash

Sunderland and Man United have experienced contrasting fortunes in the Premier League this season.

While Regis Le Bris‘ side have only lost one league game, Ruben Amorim’s flops have suffered three, with their latest coming away at Brentford.

Sunderland travel to Old Trafford on Saturday and could pave the way for Amorim’s sacking ahead of the international break.

Many fancy the Black Cats to clinch a rare away victory in the North West as Alan Brazil identifies why the Premier League pair have faced differing fortunes.

Alan Brazil praises Sunderland’s passion and togetherness

Man United should beat Sunderland on Saturday afternoon if their form against promoted teams is anything to go by.

The Red Devils are unbeaten against promoted sides since 2021, although the Black Cats are no ordinary promoted side.

Le Bris’ men sit in fifth position heading into the encounter, while the Red Devils are underwhelming in 14th.

Amorim‘s job may well be on the line should United lose to Sunderland, and there are two traits the Black Cats can use to their advantage at Old Trafford.

“Sunderland are maybe playing with what United haven’t got, just togetherness and passion,” Brazil said while hosting talkSPORT on 3 October.

“United have to match that, and then their added quality should win them the game.”

Although United may possess some quality players, so do the Black Cats, and they will be brimming with confidence heading to Old Trafford.

Will Man United vs Sunderland go ahead amid Storm Amy?

The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning in Manchester for when Sunderland visit Old Trafford.

Storm Amy is set to batter the UK this weekend, with the North West area to be directly affected by the weather.

The forecast predicts strong winds and potential rainfall throughout Saturday, with wind gusts of 47mph expected around kick-off.

While the game is under no immediate threat of being postponed, the storm may cause disruptions to travel arrangements, especially for those travelling from Wearside.

Given the Black Cats’ form heading into the clash, they will be hoping that the game goes ahead as planned.
