Ahmed Abdullahi could still leave Sunderland within seven days after collapsed summer move
Ahmed Abdullahi is on the search for regular first-team football this season.
Transfer deadline day saw plenty of optimism emerge at the Stadium of Light, with Sunderland able to seal deals for Brian Brobbey, Bertrand Traore and Lutsharel Geertruida.
However, plenty of outgoing business was done in the summer window, with Abdullahi one of those mooted for an exit from Wearside.
Ligue 1 outfit Angers looked close to sealing his services on loan for the season, though that deal fell through, with a new potential destination emerging for the Nigerian forward.

Super Lig move could be beneficial for Ahmed Abdullahi
According to Yenigun on 4 September, Turkish outfit Goztepe are looking to bring Abdullahi to the Super Lig this season.
While the English window closed on 1 September, they remain open across Europe, with the Turkish window open until 12 September.
Abdullahi showed promise for Sunderland in pre-season, but with several already ahead of him in the pecking order at the Stadium of Light, a loan move will benefit the 21-year-old.
Despite his age, he has made only two senior appearances in his career, with most of his potential emerging from his records at youth level.
In 38 appearances for Gent’s second team, the Nigerian scored 21 goals, while also having notched once for Nigeria’s Under-20 side.
If Abdullahi can seal a loan exit this summer, he will have a chance to kick on and return to Wearside a better player next season.

Sunderland’s outgoing business deserves more praise
While Sunderland’s 15 new arrivals have raised eyebrows on Wearside, their outgoing deals also deserve a lot of attention.
Patrick Roberts joined Birmingham on loan, while a whole host of others were also afforded temporary summer moves.
Given the youthfulness in the squad, it’s crucial that players are getting as many minutes this season as possible, and to achieve that, exits were needed.
If Abdullahi’s loan move to Goztepe goes through, it will be another good decision made by Sunderland, and one that certainly suits all parties.
