View: 33% Wilson Isidor struggles continue despite Sunderland win v Norwich

Wilson Isidor was largely a spectator for Sunderland in their 2-1 win over Norwich City on Saturday afternoon as his struggles continued in front of goal.

Isdor has found himself out of form in recent weeks, having failed to score or assist in any of Sunderland’s last seven Championship encounters.

Attacking woes have haunted the Black Cats for several weeks and the signing of a new striker may be required in order to maintain their promotion push.

Sunderland simply need more from the Frenchman if he is to continue leading the line for the Mackems.

Isidor fails to impress despite Sunderland victory

Isidor has been out of form for some time now but a lack of direct competition and injuries elsewhere have Regis Le Bris’ hands somewhat tied until January.

Indeed Sunderland may look to improve their attacking lineup next month and links to Brighton’s Evan Ferguson (The Scotsman) suggest that they will do just that and it may be needed after what Isidor did against Norwich.

According to FotMob, the Frenchman completed just one pass in the entire game, having only attempted three with a 33 per cent accuracy.

His lack of involvement fortunately didn’t prevent the Black Cats from achieving a result but it certainly didn’t help matters either.

In terms of duels, Isidor lost 66.6 per cent of them, failing to win the only aerial duel he was involved in.

When it comes to his ability on the ball, he also struggled to impact proceedings with his failure to complete a single dribble despite two attempts and having recorded just 13 touches in the game, he spent the majority as a spectator.

Isidor also had one big chance in the game which he failed to hit the target with after racing through the Norwich backline and finding himself one on one.

While much of his role in the side is dependent on service, he needs to showcase more off the ball and a spell out of the side could help rejuvenate him.
