12 Sunderland stars could still leave Stadium of Light in stunning deadline day exodus

Sunderland are embroiled in one of the most hectic transfer deadline days in their history.

Sunderland have already raised eyebrows with their transfer business so far this summer, and it has been no different on deadline day.

After an early morning deal was struck to bring Brian Brobbey to Sunderland, the Black Cats moved fast to reach an agreement for the loan transfer of Lutsharel Geertruida from Leipzig.

Neither transfer has been announced as of yet, nor have any departures, though as many as 12 could happen in the remainder of the window.

Patrick Roberts leads way for Sunderland exits

Patrick Roberts is said to be closing in on an exit from Sunderland, with Birmingham expected to close a loan deal for him.

Niall Huggins could be set for a move to Wycombe Wanderers, and yet 10 more players could be moved on before the deadline, according to the Sunderland Echo.

Alan Browne’s move to Middlesbrough is expected to go through, while the Black Cats have a whole host of youngsters who are looking for first-team football elsewhere.

Sunderland have always prioritised the development of their young players, and will undoubtedly be working hard behind the scenes to secure some transfers for them.

Sunderland stalling in hopes to sign winger

After Sunderland made an approach to sign Yaser Asprilla, it has been eerily quiet on the winger front.

Roberts’ departure may not be a huge loss on the face of it, though it would leave Sunderland with just three wingers, one of whom is injured.

Simon Adingra and Chemsdine Talbi will be heading to AFCON, sparking concern over the options agvailable to repalce them.

Time is still there to secure a needed arrival, though concerns are starting to grow.
